What Makes My Village School Different

Many traditional special education programs follow a classroom model built around a fixed daily schedule. In these settings, all students are expected to follow the same routine, participate in the same activities, and adapt to the same structure — even when a child is unable to tolerate the environment or the activity being presented at that moment.

When a child is expected to engage in a “non-preferred” activity before they are ready, valuable time and emotional energy are often spent on compliance rather than meaningful learning. For many children with autism, especially those who are lower functioning, this approach can lead to
frustration, disengagement, and limited progress.

At My Village School, we do things differently.

We recognize that every child with autism is unique. What motivates one child may overwhelm another. What works for one learner may not work at all for someone else. That is why we do not ask children to fit into a system — we design the system to fit the child.

Personalized Programs With Social Growth
